Induction
"I was not expecting to be swinging from a trapeze from day one"
Tom
Your first few days at Hewitt will be spent on a residential induction programme where you will have the opportunity to meet all the other graduates joining our UK offices at the same time as you. This will give you an invaluable opportunity to build friendships and a support network. For three days you focus on getting to know our business and the services we offer and also on teambuilding, which is a key part of being an associate at Hewitt.
The days may not be what you expect: this year on day one our graduates participated in a teambuilding task on a low and high rope course, climbing wall and tower. They quickly had to develop mutual trust and communicate effectively within their groups.
The senior leadership team of the business comes to meet the graduates during these first few days and the programme culminates in our new associates preparing and delivering a presentation on business improvement. We want you to contribute to our business from day one.
But induction does not end there: for three more weeks you will attend courses and training sessions to help you familiarise yourself with pension schemes and the maths relating to their investments and payments. You’ll also learn about our ways of working and the systems and tools we have developed to help you with calculations and information sharing. Your professional study programme will then begin.
